Dr. Shinji Kohara is a Principal Researcher at the Synchrotron X-ray Group, Light/Quantum Beam Field, Research Center for Advanced Measurement and Characterization, National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan. His research interests are focused on synchrotron X-ray diffraction from glasses, liquids, and amorphous materials and computer simulations. He was a beamline scientist at high-energy X-ray diffraction beamline of SPring-8 and built the dedicated X-ray PDF diffractometer for disordered materials with a beamline laser heating system for aerodynamics levitation furnace.
