Dr. Subhasis Sen did his M.Sc. in Geological Sciences from the Jadavpur University, Calcutta, in 1960 and Ph.D. from the Nagpur University in 1974. He worked in the Central Fuel Research Institute – one of the constituent Laboratories of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of India from 1961 to 1996 as a geologist. Besides contributing original work on fossil fuels and Earth Sciences, Dr. Sen has developed a new model on global tectonics based on earth expansion theory, termed Unified Global Tectonics. Since his superannuation from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in 1996, Dr. Sen is mainly conducting studies on various fundamental aspects of Earth and Planetary Sciences. Dr. Sen has presented his views - many of which are new and considered as breakthrough - to various Indian and International Symposia, Seminars and Conferences, besides publication of more than 170 papers and two books titled ‘ Earth the Planet Extraordinary ’ (Allied Publisher, New Delhi, India, 2005) and ‘Decoding the Solar System’ (Author House, UK, 2011).
