Prof. Salih N Akour is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering Systems, at the Mechanical Engineering Department in The University of Jordan since April 2019, Associate Professor at the University of Jordan for September 2015-to April 2019. Associate Professor at Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering Department at University of Sharjah from September 2011 to 2015, at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Oman from 2008 to 2011 and as an Assistant and Associate professor at the University of Jordan in Jordan from 2000 to 2006 and 2006-2008 respectively. Prof. Akour is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Golden Key Honor Society, honorary member of International Distinguished Scholar, International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and Jordan Engineering Association. Also, he is a former member of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers). Prof. Akour granted in 2014 the “Asian Education Leadership Award” as Best Professor in Sustainable & Renewable Energy Engineering. Recently Prof. Akour is recognized by the Strategic Foresight Group as one the World Renowned Scholars and Thought Leaders in Renewable Energy. He received his Ph.D. with honor in Mechanical Systems from University of Central Florida (UCF), USA in 2000. Prof. Akour's current fields of research include Design optimization, Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing/Finite Element Analysis, Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering, 3-D Biomedical Modeling, Structural Dynamics, and Composite Materials and Structures Technology. He has published many publications in International Journal conference papers as well as patents. He graduated 3 Ph.D. Students and Many MSc students. During his career life as faculty he has established and participated in establishing new B.Sc. Engineering programs as well as engineering laboratories. Prof. Akour serves on a number of national professional committees. Prof. Akour is a reviewer of a number of international technical journals. He served as Consultant to many national industries: in Oman e.g. The Research Council (TRC)/ Industrial Innovation Center, in Jordan e.g., Seabird Aviation Jordan, Jordan Aerospace Industries, PREFAB (Prefabricated Buildings, Jordan), Also to some international industries in US through UCF; e.g., Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, US Filters, Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation /Florida.
Loai Aljerf is a Prof in the Department of Basic Sciences, Faculty of Dental Medicine/DamascusUniversity. He is a specialist in analytical and industrial chemistry. He obtained many awards and published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers (two of them in French) in Environmental Sciences, Green Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Synthesis Chemistry, Concrete, Ceramics, Paper Industry, Petrochemical, Extraction, Separation, Lithium-Ion-Batteries, and Oral Chemistry. Eugen Rusu got a diploma in Naval Architecture (1982) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (1997). Between 1999 – 2004 he worked as a post doc fellow at the at Hydrographic Institute of the Portuguese Navy, where he was responsible with the wave modelling and participated in providing the environmental support for some major situations as: the accident of the M/V Prestige (2002) and the NATO exercises ‘Unified Odyssey’ (2002) and ‘Swordfish’ (2003). Eugen Rusu worked also as a consulting Scientist at the NATO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation, La Spezia, Italy (2005), having as main tasks: modelling coastal waves and surf zone processes. Starting with 2006, in parallel with his activity as professor at University Dunarea de Jos of Galati, he works as a professor collaborator at CENTEC - Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering, University of Lisbon, Portugal. Furthermore, since 2012 he has acted also as an expert for the European Commission. Eugen Rusu published more than 150 works in the fields of renewable energy and marine engineering and he received the awards of Doctor Honoris Causa (2015), at the Maritime University of Constanta, Romania, Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing, Renewable Energy (2015) and Ocean Engineering (2016) journals and Top 1% World Reviewers in the field of Engineering (2018). He is also the President of the Council of the Doctoral Schools in Galati University and of the Romanian National Commission of Mechanical Engineering. Since 2018 he has become a corresponding member of the Romanian Academy, the highest scientific and cultural forum in Romania.
