Dr Bingang Xu is Associate Professor in Institute of Textiles and Clothing at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has published over 160 research papers and holds 11 granted patents. Dr Xu’s research interests include textile technologies, wearable electronics, smart materials and systems. His recent work has been published in high-impact journals such as Advanced Materials, Nano Energy and Small. As Principal Investigator, Dr. Xu has led his team to win Gold Award in International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in 2017 and 2018. He is a reviewer for over 30 international journals including Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Nanoscale.
Dr. O.L. Shanmugasundaram is a Professor in the Department of Textile Technology at K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology, India. He graduated in B.Tech. Textile Technology from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, India. He aced the GATE Examination with 83.21 percentile [All India Rank: 93]. He received his M.Tech. Degree in Textile Technology from Alagappa College of Technology, Anna University Campus, Chennai and completed his Ph.D. degree in Medical Textiles from Anna University. He has authored 45 research papers that were published in impact factor journals. He has to his credit 40 papers presented in International Conferences conducted by leading institutions like New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA, IITD New Delhi, IITKGP Kharagpur, IITM, Madras, etc. and 17 others in National Conferences.
Dr Gordana Colovic was born 1963. She graduated on Department of Textile and Mechanical Engineering, Technical Faculty, B.Sc Textile Technology, M.Sc. Technical Science and she holds a PhD in Industrial management. She works in The College of Textile – Design, Technology and Management in Belgradelike a professor for Garment construction, Organization of manufacturing, Work study, Management of technology systems in garment industry, Marketing management for garment industry, Strategic management, Market research and consumer behaviour and Public relations. She is Head of the Department Management in the textile industry. Also, she is owner agency SE-ERGO. She was 7 years the Editor in Chief magazine Tekstilnaindustrija (Textile industry) and member a lot of associations, scientific committees, Editorial board member in 8 journals and reviewer in 13 journals. She has paper works in around 120 publications and symposiums, 13 books about garment industry and 2 chapters.
Dr. Narendra Reddy obtained his Bachelors and Master degree from Bangalore University. Later, he graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA with his PhDin 2006. His major research interests are in using agricultural resources for developing green and sustainable products. He has published about 125 research papers, two books, several book chapters and presented his research in more than 50 conferences. Dr. Reddy also holds international patents and his work has been reported by CNN, discovery news, BBC and others. He has been awarded the prestigious Ramalingaswami Fellowship from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Dr. Reddy’s research focus is to convert agricultural residues into value added bioproducts for various applications. He has led research towards the development of false ceiling tiles, containers, pots, cups, plates etc from agricultural wastes such as sugarcane bagasse, banana fibers, coir fibers etc. He has co-founded a start-up “Agringenium Innovations Private Limited” where various bioprouducts are being developed from agricultural residues. In addition to the agricultural residues, the group is also working on utilizing oil meals and lignocellulosic biomasses into value added products. Unique aspects of the bioproducts developed are that they are completely biodegradable and 100% chemical free.
Mohd Rozi Ahmad is currently the Deputy Dean for Research and Industrial Linkages, Faculty of Applied Sciences. He is a Associate Professor in the field of textile science and technology. He has served the faculty as a lecturer and researcher for 12 years since 2001. Prior to being an academic staff, he worked in the textile industry for several years at the middle management position. He is now actively involved in postgraduate supervision, conducting research and offering services to the industry and community. Mohd Rozi is engaged in several research projects in textile mechanics and yarn technology with research grants obtained from the Ministry of Higher Education (FRGS and ERGS grants) and Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (eScienceFund). He is also teaching undergraduate students in yarn production technology, technical textiles and supervising them in final year projects. He has served as as Coordinator for Postgraduate Studies at the UiTM International Center and was elected as the Ex Officio member with the Malaysian Textiles and Apparel Center (MATAC), Kuala Lumpur. He is a member of the Textile Institute, UK and a committee member in the Technical Committee on Technical Textiles, Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM Berhad).
I come from a textile business background in Greece and studied in the UK. I completed my postgraduate studies in Leeds and then went onto my MSc and PhD, which were funded by M&S and their suppliers. I completed my PhD in 1986 and became a lecturer in clothing at Bradford, and then became a fellow of the Science and Technology Agency in Japan in 1991 before returning to Bradford in 1992. I obtained my personal chair in industrial engineering systems at Bradford in 1994 whilst continuing research in textile objective measurement applied at the textile and clothing interface. In 1999 I joined the School of Textiles and Design as Professor of Textiles and I’m currently Director of TechniTex and the Faraday Partnership in Technical Textiles. I have always been interested in the interface between textiles and clothing from a number of aspects and have centered the majority of my research around this area, bringing in sensors, control engineering and machine design.
Dr. Taher Rajab Kaddar earned his Ph.D. in Spinning and Weaving Technology Engineering with emphasis in Weaving Technology Engineering from "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of IASI, Romania in 1985 . After working as a head of the textile division, head of studies department in General Organization of Textile Industries(GOTI) in Damascus, Syria four years Assistant director/director of the Directorate of Manufacturing and Chairman of Scientific Research and Industrial Development Department in the Military Housing Establishment(MILIHOUSE)for fourteen years. Member of Staff and Head of Textile and spinning Engineering department in Faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering in Al-Baath Universityfour fourteen years. He is currently an Professor in Department of Textile Industries Mechanical Engineering and their Technology, Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Damascus University, Syria,and his work has been published in such journals as the Journal of Textile Science & Engineering, Textiles and Light Industrial Science and Technology and the journal of Damascus University. Dr. Kaddaralso has 10 patents, 20 golden award from suchc as WIPO, published14 book, Registered QMS Lead Auditor in IRCA London .In parallel hedirected the scientific committee of AL Basel exhibition for inventions and creations, for eighteen years.
Prof. Hu obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from China and her PhD from UMIST (now University of Manchester), UK. Before furthering her studies in the UK she was a lecturer in a textile university in China, where she taught subjects such as Textile Material Sciences, Fashion Colours and Clothing Studies. Prof Hu joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1994. She teaches a broad range of subjects such as Structre and Mechanics of Textiles, testing and evaluation of textiles and clothing, quality assurance, textile technology and material sciences, product development, as well as hi-tech and non-apparel textiles. Her teaching duties include different levels of class teaching and supervising BSc, MPhil and PhD students. She has been undertaking and leading a number of large scale ( millions of HK Dollars) of research projects in the areas of Shape Memory Materials and Textiles, Structure and Mechanics, Cloth (Soft-Body) Simulation, Objective Fabric Appearance and Hand Evaluation using Psychophysics, Image Analysis and Artificial Intelligence. Prof Hu is a member of several professional bodies, an Publication Committee Chair and Executive member of the Hong Kong Institution of Textiles & Apparel and of the Society of Hong Kong Scholars, a Fellow of the Textile Institute and of the Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel, Editor-in-Chief for Research Journal of Textiles and Apparel as well as an editorial member of a number of journals, an Honorary Professor of several universities in China. She has published a number of books and book chapters and about 300 papers and patents, and has been awarded many prizes for the merits of her academic papers and industrial materials and products. In addition, as an invited speaker and author of papers, PhD examiner, adviser and organizer of conferences. Prof. Hu is active in the international academic world. In particular, she has very strong ties with China and has been liaising with the top universities in China to promote our research and programmes as well as recruit students. Her name is included in several international biographical publications. she was awarded by the Fibre Society of the USA for a Distinguished Achievements Award and Sang Ma Award from China.

He worked as technicalmanager and consultantforvariousTurkishcompanies. He served as president of theTurkishChamber of Textile Engineers of TMMOB fortwosuccessiveterms. ProfessorOzek has extensiveexpertise in weavingtechnology. His researchinterestsare in theareas of fabrictechnology, weaving,functionaltextiles, sustainability in textiles and newproductdevelopment. He has conductedvariousacademic and industrialreserchprojects in theseareas.
Dr. Maged Youssef was a professor of Fashion Management in Helwan University, Egypt, and currently he is acting as a Director of BA Fashion Marketing and Retailing program at Heriot-Watt University (Dubai Campus) , he is also teaching different fashion retailing and management courses in the undergraduate and postgraduate stages.
